John's Still Life paintings depict toys, curios and mementos from 20th century popular culture. The aim is to create unsettlingly beautiful images of deliciously horrid little objects. |
| John seems to find eerie strangeness --and beauty-- wherever he lives. It's hoped that these images each capture the spirit of their locale. |
These
commissioned portraits use theatrical chiaroscuro lighting, painstaking Renaissance
technique and evocative allegory to create accurate and flattering likeness
of the subjects which reveal their unique personalities.
